Heavy Metal-Freaken Eddie er skolens nørd. Hver dag bliver han ydmyget af skolens hårde klike og hans eneste trøst er heavy-metalstjernen Sammi Currs plader. men så dør sammi under en voldsom hotelbrand. Eddie er sønderknust. Som trøst forærer discjockeyen Nuke ham en gave han aldrig har turde drømme om. Det sidste album Sammi har udgivet. Eddie opdager at der findes skjulte meddelser på pladen når man spiller den baglæns. Sammi tager kontakt fra "den andne side" - og giver Eddie tips til hvordan han skal overvinde sin plageånder, og tilmed komme i kontakt med en af skolens attraktive piger. Men snart finder Eddie ud af at Sammi udnytter ham, hans nye musik står folk ihjel. Og gæt hvem der forlanger at få spillet sit album til den nært forstående halloween-fest hvor ALLE kommer...?
